I love science... and I think everyone else should too.

That about sums me up. I am a freelance science writer and presenter, based in Cambridge, with a passion for sharing my love of science with anyone who will listen.

I have a strong science background- I studied Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge, taking courses in Chemistry, Materials Science and Evolution before discovering a love of brains and specialising in Psychology.

I also enjoy performing- acting, dancing and public speaking meant I was never off stage for long while growing up. When I discovered that I could bring together these two passions, my science communication career was born.

I have experience working in many different areas (see below for more details), and am a confident and flexible communicator. If you are interested in booking me for an event, collaborating on a project, or just finding out more about what I do, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

I love being on stage, and have performed to audiences of 7 to 700, in venues as diverse as the Cambridge Science Centre, Cheltenham festival, and the Rand Show in Johannesburg SA.  Workshops give the chance to interact more with the audience, and I have devised workshops for groups ranging from school children to corporate clients.

I am confident in front of a camera, and am a regular presenter for the Cosmic Shambles Network. I have also presented for the Cambridge Science Centre, Cambridge TV and Outrageous Stunts on 5Spike TV. My YouTube channel covers a range of psychology and neuroscience topics.

I am a presenter and producer for the British Psychological Society's PsychCrunch podcast. I  previously produced and presented for the Naked Scientists both live and as pre-rec packaged, and have made podcasts for Bright Club, Skeptics in the Pub and other events.

I have co-written 3 books for DK publishing as well as numerous articles for varied audiences. I pride myself on explaining science concepts in a way that is comprehensible and easy to relate to. I am also an experienced editor and enjoy working with scientists to improve their writing.

During my transition from scientist to science communicator I have learnt invaluable skills, which I am keen to pass on to practising scientists, to help them get the most out of their interactions with the media, and the public.

I can create bespoke shows, workshops and training sessions for your business, drawing on my background in psychology and neuroscience as well as my skills as a science communicator.
